What have you done
this year to make the world a better place?
Actual quotes
from students:
"I bike more often so I don't use
my parent's gas!"
"We use those weird looking light
bulbs in the house now."
"We recycle everything now -
paper, plastic, everything."
Earth Day 2008 is behind us, but caring for our planet is an
everyday event. What you can do starts right here at PCMS. On Monday,
May 12th, the environmental club will be meeting to pick up
the overflowing recycling bins in each of our classrooms. We can really
use your help.
This is the time of year when as a school we generate the highest
volumes of paper for recycling. Can you help out? We really need extra
hands this time of year. We meet in room A123 right after school. Be
there, and bring a friend too.
_______________
Save a Tree or Two
PCMS is committed to
using as little paper as possible, therefore raising awareness about
saving natural resources, such as trees. The research class alone is taking
strides in creating very little paper waste products by:
-
Posting all assignments/rubrics online
-
Testing online
-
Creating documents online.
-
If
paper is generated, it is usually recycled paper.
Other
classes have also adopted the policies that our natural resources need
to be protected. PCMS classes recycle.
Be
Green - you know what I mean? Volunteer to
make a difference!

Tip of the Day: Drinking bottled water is nice
...but where do all the empty plastic bottles go when you're done
with them? Re-use them for more water, or buy a newly re-engineered Nalgene (or type of Nalgene bottle) bottle and refill it with water.
This way, you re-use the bottle and nothing ends up in the landfill!
